When designing this loudspeaker, we had two goals to accomplish. One, we wanted to create an affordable loudspeaker available to everyone, and two, have high-quality sound that can grow with the listener.
Probably one of the most unique speakers we have designed is the EX-10, which offers quality sound and performance not normally found in a speaker of this size. It’s one of our smaller monitor speakers that we design at only 10.5” tall. Now you can have the best of both worlds: a compact speaker with a good soundstage. Even though this speaker is compact in size, it offers big sound that is clean, clear, and detailed. This speaker is great for those who are looking for a small monitor that integrates into any small room as a main speaker, desktop, or satellite speaker.

The EX-10 offers great sound quality and performance, something you might not expect from such a compact speaker. This little powerhouse demonstrates how vintage components and affordable materials can come together to deliver good sound. Its smart design allows for flexible placement—whether close to a wall or a bit further out—making it a versatile choice for anyone looking to get their first HiFi speaker that easily connects with most low-powered amplifiers.
The Design
The EX-10 is the first model in the EX line-up to feature upgradable internal wiring. By swapping out the wiring to the woofer, you can significantly alter the overall sound quality. This small but impactful change can truly enhance the loudspeaker's performance.
The woofer connects directly to the amplifier without a crossover for improved transient response. Additionally, the Mylar dome tweeter is equipped with a steep slope high-pass filter that ensures optimal power handling and contributes to a smoother sound profile. Crafted with high-quality air-core inductors and metallized polypropylene capacitors, the assembly is done by point-to-point soldering, which is usually found in higher priced speakers.
The Results
This mini monitor can function as a standalone desktop speaker (paired with a t-amp) for your PC or serve as a monitor for small rooms that require critical listening. With its sealed cabinet design, it integrates well with a subwoofer, providing full-range sound for small to medium-sized spaces. The EX-10 stands out as an exceptional speaker, rivaling those that are larger and more expensive.
