This speaker is great for those who are looking for a compact high-end monitor speaker that can integrate into most small room., but can offer big and bold high fidelity sound of larger speakers.
Note:
The HD-1 was one of our first loudspeakers (like the reference MM100 Speaker) to feature The Linkwitz-Riley crossover filter design. A crossover that provided a steeper slope for better blending between the woofer and tweeter. The crossover featured high quality aircore inductors and metallized polypropylene capacitors, all joint together by point to point soldering. All the features you would expect to find in larger and more expensive loudspeaker.
The HD-1 speaker cabinet is crafted out of 1" thick MDF (medium density fiberboard) cabinet for increase ridginess and reduce resonates. Each cabinet is aligned with a new 1" textile dome tweeter for a wide dispersion and good power handling. Combined with a 6-1/2" aluminum cone woofer driver with large magnet and motor structure with rubber surround for high excursion deep bass response. With a fine tuned crossover for better driver blending. The result is compact bookshelf monitor speaker capable of delivering high fidelity sound with deep bass response that rivals speakers twice its size.
